Florida horror fans, prepare yourselves! Disturbing reports continue pouring in regarding Spooky Empire’s summer event. Concern that terrifying creatures will be roaming hotel hallways. Distress that late-night gothic gatherings will go deep into the night.
Florida Comic Cons is here to help- we’re giving your 5 reasons to attend Spooky Empire’s summer event. And to keep the horror going after Spooky Empire, check out our blog sponsor at the end of this article: Sunshine City Scare, Florida’s Official Halloween Prequel, on Aug. 15–16 in St. Pete.
Reason #1: Horror FX Artists will be Lurking
Authorities warn attendees to proceed with caution, because every corner of Spooky Empire could be crawling with terrifyingly talented makeup artists and creature creators. Realistic prosthetics, elaborate gore effects, and monstrous transformations have all been reported. Talented makeup SFX artists like TheStarCos and photographers like OneNotePhotos will be showcasing their work.
Reason 2: Horror Legends Signing Autographs
Mass horror hysteria is expected as fans will line up to meet the icons responsible for their childhood nightmares like Robert England (Freddy), Brad Dourif (Chucky), Warwick Davis (Leprechaun), and more than 30 more celebrities. Posters, props, collectibles, and memorabilia will be signed all weekend long by horror royalty, scream queens, and cult classic stars. Experts recommend bringing an extra tote bag because you will absolutely find something else you “need” signed.
Reason #3: Strange Creatures and Elegant Vampires
There likely will be sightings of incredible horror cosplay throughout the convention. From gothic vampires and masked slashers to nightmare-fueled creatures, Spooky Empire fully embraces the eerie and theatrical side of fandom. One moment you’ll see elegant gothic fashion, the next you’ll encounter a creature so realistic it looks straight out of a movie set.
Reason #4: Vendor Hall Overflowing with Haunted Treasures and Questionably Cursed Collectibles
Florida Comic Cons advises entering the vendor hall at your own risk, because your wallet may never recover, but you’re happiness will live for years. Horror collectibles, creepy artwork, gothic fashion, spooky décor, handmade oddities, and skull-shaped merchandise will completely take over the show floor. Even more dangerous will be the passionate artists and vendors eager to share their spooky creations with fellow horror fans.
Reason #5 Parties, Music, and Mysterious Goth Activity Into the Night
Reports confirm the energy at Spooky Empire likely will not stop when the vendor hall closes. As night falls, the convention will transform into a fog-filled world of dance parties, dark music, live entertainment, and gothic fashion. Whether you’re there to dance, socialize, or simply exist in a place where Halloween feels alive year-round, the after-hours atmosphere is impossible to resist. Check out the schedule to learn more.
