Reason #1: It’s Completely Free
Yes, you read that right! Zero admission cost. Day of Cosplay is open and free for everyone, making it one of the most accessible ways to dive into fandom without worrying about ticket prices. Bring your best look, your fandom spirit, and your camera! Cosplay doesn’t have to come with a price tag.
Reason #2: Run by Cosplayers, for Cosplayers
This isn’t just a campus event, it’s a labor of love. The crew behind Day of Cosplay is made up of actual cosplayers volunteering their time to bring this day to life. That means every panel, every contest, every decorative touch is driven by people who get the craft, the hustle, the creativity. Because when your organizers live and breathe cosplay, you know it’s going to hit differently.
reason #3. The Best Cosplay We See – All Weekend Long!
Keep your cosplay game sharp, because the Best Cosplay We See hallway contest is happening all weekend! Hosted by NillaCosplay herself! No need to sign up, just show up in your best, and you could win con tickets on the spot. Snap a pic, strut your stuff, and don’t forget to say hi. We want to feature you!
reason #4. Cosplay Contest!
Amidst a vibrant array of festivities, from Maid Cafés you wont want to miss, Idol Fests, to captivating live orchestra performances and panels galore! There’s one event that always holds a special place in our hearts here at FCC: the Cosplay Contest.
We can never resist the thrill of seeing creativity come to life on stage, especially when it’s paired with fantastic prizes! And this year’s Day of Cosplay is no exception.
Competitors will have the chance to win free tickets to two of Orlando’s most beloved conventions: Holiday Matsuri, the magical December celebration that blends anime, gaming, and holiday cheer, and Anime Festival Orlando (AFO), a long-standing favorite among fans and our team her at FCC.
We’re beyond excited to see who will step into the spotlight, showcase their craftsmanship, and bring their favorite characters to life. The stage is set, the lights are ready, and the countdown is on! Day of Cosplay is about to shine brighter than ever!
Reason #5: UCF’s Very Own Live Orchestra!
Day of Cosplay promises to be an unforgettable experience for all! With stunning art galleries to explore and a lively trading center buzzing with activity, both our introverted dreamers and extroverted adventurers will find plenty to enjoy.
And the best part? Both sides of the fandom will unite for a truly breathtaking highlight, the orchestral performance presented by UCF. This enchanting concert will feature music from some of your favorite franchises and beloved games, creating a moment of pure harmony between creativity and community.
We’re beyond thrilled to witness the incredible talent UCF is bringing to the main stage this year. With passion, artistry, and a touch of magic in every note, this performance is set to be a show-stopping centerpiece you won’t want to miss!
The Legends Behind 2025’s Day of Cosplay Event!
If we could, we’d love nothing more than to list every single student, group, and organizer who made this incredible event possible, but I fear, if we tried, we’d still be writing come next year’s Day of Cosplay, and we’d barely be halfway through the roll call. The passion that fuels this community runs that deep. (If you don’t believe me join their absolutely HUGE, discord server!)
However, there are a few individuals who truly deserve a moment in the spotlight. Talented, kindhearted, and endlessly dedicated members of The Anime Spot, whom we had the absolute pleasure of meeting during one of their regular monthly gatherings.
At the helm stands Daley, the ever-dynamic Anime Spot Club President, whose leadership radiates both creativity and compassion. Beside her, Alo, her right hand and organizational powerhouse, whose attention to detail turns ideas into seamless reality. And completing this remarkable trio is their steadfast friend Jay, whose bridge-building spirit brought us here at Florida Comic Cons into connection with this wonderful group in the first place.
What struck us most wasn’t just their commitment to cosplay ( though their passion for the fun is undeniable) but their unwavering dedication to the community itself. Their care goes far beyond coordinating meetings or planning events; it’s about cultivating a space where every student feels seen, safe, and celebrated. Whether ensuring vegan options are available for those who need them or navigating the more profound conversations surrounding personal identity and self-expression, this team approaches every challenge with empathy, grace, and genuine heart.
Daley, Alo, and Jay embody the very spirit of what makes Florida’s cosplay scene so extraordinary. They are the architects of tomorrow’s fandom. Thoughtful, and involved leaders. Compassionate visionaries who take time to create a club worth being in. And we at FCC couldn’t be prouder to call them true pillars of our Florida Cosplay community.
