Here’s our must-see movie list for actor Casper Van Dien!

In honor of Van Dien’s appearance at Holiday Cosplay Tampa Bay, we’re giving you five must-see movies that show his range as an actor.

Favorite Movie #1: Starship Troopers

The cult classic stars Casper Van Dien as, Johnny Rico. Johnny and his peers go to war with giant alien bugs. It’s cooky, it’s campy, and it’s action-packed all the way through. It’s like Alien, Star Wars, and Jurassic Park had a baby- you gotta check it out!

#2: Sleepy Hollow

This 1999 Tim Burton horror flick is another cult classic on Van Dien’s resume! The movie is a fan favorite that racked up an astonishing 44 award nominations, with 28 wins- including an Oscar! The retelling of the classic tale, Sleepy Hollow also stars Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, in which Van Dien is the antagonist.

#3: Tarzan and the Lost City

As the first Tarzan film to shoot entirely in Africa, Tarzan and the Lost City features some beautiful scenery! It’s a fun adventure film featuring the beloved vine swinging character, Tarzan – played by Casper Van Dien himself! Much like the rest of his filmography, Tarzan and the Lost City also achieved a cult like status after it’s VHS release!

#4: Deadpool the Musical 2: Ultimate Disney Parody

This web special is downright hilarious. Featuring Casper Van Dien as Cyclops, it pairs together Deadpool and some favorite Disney classics. The parody musical has racked up almost 8 million views on YouTube and is sure to leave you in stitches laughing. But be warned- this comedic bit is definitely not safe for work!

#5: Con Man

Doing what he does best, Van Dien plays John Boutell in this hilarious TV show paying tribute to cult classic show Firefly. The show also stars Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion, both of whom were in the prematurely cancelled Firefly that serves as a meta commentary on what became of the stars after the cancelation. It offers hilarious commentary on the convention and Sci-Fi scene, cheekily sneaking Van Dien in as the judgmental, but all knowing, bartender. If you’re a Firefly fan, Sci-Fi fan, or even just a fan of conventions in general, this is a must-see.
