Comic artist Christopher Jones will be appearing at St. Pete Comic Con 2023 on January 7–8 at the Coliseum. He is known for work with a variety of different genres, from superhero comics with both Marvel and DC, to a Doctor Who series for Titan Comics, to being the Chief Creative Officer for CONvergence in the Midwest.
A majority of the work he does involves the penciling and inking for the comic stories. In fact, Jones drew 46 out 50 issues in The Batman Strikes series. He is also known for being able to adjust his drawing style from classic comic figures to matching the cartoon designs from different TV shows for the associated spin off graphic novels. A popular example of his work with television series spin-offs into comics is the Young Justice series, where he drew both covers and stories throughout its run. Additionally, he co-created the Dr. Blink Superhero Shrink where a psychologist talks to superheroes about their issues.
Young Justice
The Young Justice comic series that Jones worked on was directly linked to the corresponding television series. Additionally, the comic series ran so closely with the show that the first issue was published less than a week after the second episode of the show. After issue #5, Jones took over as the full time artist for the series as an interior artist and a cover artist. The series then ended after only 25 issues.
Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes
This comic series is also adapted from TV series by the same name. This series regularly forces the Avengers to combat threats from space like Ultron and the Kree. Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes was an 18 issue comic series that released in 2012. Christopher Jones also did assorted covers and interior penciling for the series.
Doctor Who
Jones is a huge Doctor Who fan, according to his blog and has always done artwork and prints for the fandom. However, he has been working with Titan Comics on several Doctor Who Comics, including the Thirteenth Doctor, who happens to be the first female Doctor of the series.
