The anticipation is building as Tampa Bay Comic Convention, Florida’s second-largest fan convention, is just around the corner! From August 23-25, the Tampa Convention Center will be transformed into a haven for pop culture enthusiasts, bringing together fans of comics, movies, anime, and more for an unforgettable weekend. And Florida Comic Cons is here to keep you updated as you prepare for the big event that includes celebrities, comic creators, cosplay, and our Best Cosplay We See! competition.

This year’s guest lineup is nothing short of spectacular, featuring nearly 50 celebrity guests. Headlining the event are stars like Elijah Wood, known for his iconic role as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings; Hayden Christensen, celebrated for his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars; Jodi Benson, the beloved voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid; and the legendary Billy Dee Williams, who brought Lando Calrissian to life in the Star Wars saga. Whether you’re a fan of Middle-earth, a Jedi at heart, or have a special place in your heart for Disney classics, there’s a star here for everyone.

But it’s not just about the celebrities. Tampa Bay Comic Convention will also feature an impressive roster of comic creators, including the talented Afua Richardson, known for her work on Black Panther and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and the renowned Georges Jeanty, celebrated for his contributions to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Deadpool, and The Mandalorian. With a dozen comic artists and writers in attendance, fans will have the opportunity to meet the creative minds behind their favorite stories, get autographs, and maybe even pick up some exclusive artwork.

Of course, no comic convention would be complete without cosplay, and Tampa Bay Comic Convention promises to deliver in spades. Expect to see a dazzling array of costumes, from meticulously crafted armor to whimsical recreations of beloved characters. Whether you’re dressing up yourself or just admiring the creativity on display, the cosplay scene is sure to be a highlight of the weekend. Our Florida Comic Cons team roams the convention halls in search of the top talent. Cosplayers approached choose to participate, allowing us to snap a pic and grab a quick video. All participants will be featured in a blog as well as on the Florida Comic Cons website. Winners receive a trophies and tickets to Florida conventions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for cosplayers to gain recognition and build confidence without the pressure of performing on stage. We especially welcome introverts to join and showcase their amazing work!
